Terms of Service

1. Who we are
Taskyard ("Taskyard", "we", "us", or "our") is a software service operated by Farouk Adam, an individual based in Nigeria. Taskyard is a workspace tool that helps people organise and manage AI data-annotation work, accounts, taskers, assessors, payouts, and related operations. You can reach us at support@taskyard.xyz. By creating an account or using Taskyard, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Taskyard.
2. What Taskyard is, and what it is not
Taskyard is an organisational and record-keeping tool. It helps you track accounts, assignments, work logs, and payments that you arrange and control. Taskyard does not employ you, does not employ your taskers or assessors, is not a party to any agreement between you and the people you work with, and does not itself perform, supply, or supervise annotation work. Taskyard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any third-party platform you may manage or reference through it, including but not limited to Outlier, Handshake, Mercor, Alignerr, Oneforma, Prolific, or any other data-annotation platform. All such names belong to their respective owners.
3. Your responsibility for third-party platforms and compliance
This section is important. You are solely responsible for your own compliance with the terms, rules, and policies of any third-party platform you use, manage, reference, or organise through Taskyard. Taskyard is a private tool for your own records and does not authorise, encourage, or endorse any activity that violates a third party's terms of service. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Taskyard, and the underlying work and account arrangements you record in it, are lawful and permitted by every platform and party involved. Taskyard makes no representation that your use of any third-party platform is permitted by that platform, and Taskyard accepts no responsibility or liability for any consequence you or anyone you work with may face on any third-party platform, including account suspension, termination, withheld payment, or any other outcome. Those relationships are entirely between you and those platforms.
4. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Taskyard. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly at support@taskyard.xyz if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Your content and the people in your yard
You are responsible for the data you put into Taskyard, including account labels, tasker and assessor details, work logs, screenshots, and any other content. You confirm you have the right to store and share that information, and that you have any necessary permission from the people whose details you record. You must not upload content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you are not permitted to share. Taskyard operates a privacy wall so that taskers and assessors see only what is intended for them. You remain responsible for what you choose to share within your yard and on the public Open Yard board.
6. Open Yard and the contact relay
Open Yard lets you optionally publish a public pitch or list a resource so others can contact you. Anything you publish there is public. Do not put private instructions, credentials, or confidential material in a public listing. Contact made through Open Yard is between you and the other person; Taskyard only passes along the message and the contact details you each provide, and is not responsible for what follows.
7. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds
Some Taskyard features require a paid subscription. Current plans are ₦5,000 per month, ₦10,000 per three months, ₦20,000 per six months, and ₦35,000 per twelve months. Prices may change; any change applies to future billing periods, not the one you are already in. Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not store your full card details. By subscribing, you also agree to Paystack's terms. Refunds: if you are unhappy with a subscription, you may request a refund within 7 days of a first payment or a renewal by emailing support@taskyard.xyz, and we will refund that payment in good faith. After 7 days, payments for a billing period are non-refundable, and we do not provide partial refunds for a period already begun. This refund policy covers Taskyard subscription fees only. It does not cover money that moves between you, your clients, and your taskers, which Taskyard merely records and never holds.
8. Money between you and others
Taskyard records payments you tell it about. It does not hold, transfer, escrow, or guarantee any money that moves between you, your clients, your taskers, or your assessors. All such payments are arranged and settled directly by you. Any dispute about that money is between the people involved, not with Taskyard.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Taskyard, including by attempting to break its security or privacy wall, accessing data that is not yours, using it to facilitate fraud or anything unlawful, or using it to trade material whose sharing would violate a third party's terms. We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service.
10. Availability and changes
Taskyard is provided as is and as available. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update these Terms; if we make a significant change we will update the date above, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taskyard and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, lost earnings, or any consequence arising on a third-party platform, arising out of your use of Taskyard. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Taskyard is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Termination
You may stop using Taskyard at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive, including responsibility for third-party compliance, payment obligations, and limitation of liability, will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of Nigeria.
